MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS ON SAMPLES FROM TWO SITES, 5WL48 AND 5WL1555, IN NORTHEASTERN COLORADO

Author(s): Kathryn Puseman

Year: 1992

Summary

Three samples from Site 5WL48 and two samples from Site 5WLL555 were

examined for macrofloral remains. Samples were taken from hearths found in sand

dunes. Radiocarbon dates from bulk soil samples collected from hearths

associated with those that were sampled for macrofloral remains suggest Late

Archaic occupations for both sites, 3230 + 80 to 2070 + 100 BP. Macrofloral

analysis is used to address subsistence activities at these sites.
