MICROSCOPIC ANALYSIS OF HUMAN TISSUE FROM A BURIAL AT 42EM2095

Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings

Year: 1993

Summary

Three separate sanples of carbonized probable human soft tissue were

removed from Feature 10G, a burial, at 42EM2095. These samples were collected

during analysis of the burial remains. It was hoped that at least some of this

material represented intestinal contents. Two of the specimens were selected for

pollen and phytolith analysis, as well as macrofloral examination, based on form

and information submitted with the sanples. These analyses were undertaken in

an effort to identify diet or parasites from the burial.
