Summary

Samples from Sites AZ N:4:72(ASM), AZ N:4:82(ASM), and AZ N:4:83(ASM) in

central Arizona were analyzed for pollen and macrofloral remains. Site AZ

N:4:72(ASM) represent a small, protohistoric Yavapai encampment. Pollen and

macrofloral analyses of a wickiup ring at AZ N:4:72(ASM) may help interpret the

site function. Sites AZ N:4:82 (ASM) and AZ N:4:83 (ASM) represent Archaic period sites. Pollen and macrofloral analyses at these sites are used to address

prehistoric subsistence by providing information on possible plants processed.
