A TEST OF POLLEN PRESERVATION AT ERBIE CAMPGROUND, NEWTON COUNTY ARKANSAS

Author(s): Linda J. Scott; PaleoResearch Institute

Year: 1987

Summary

Four pollen samples were submitted for analysis from a soil core

removed from the Erbie Campground site in Newton County, Arkansas. These

samples were collected in connection with archaeological mitigation and

geomorphic analysis. Previous attempts at pollen analysis from southeastern

Missouri have proven fruitless, so this analysis was undertaken to ascertain

whether or not pollen was preserved in this core.
