POLLEN ANALYSIS OF ISOLATED SAMPLES FROM 5RB3556 AND 5RB3737

Summary

Four pollen samples were collected and analyzed from sites 5RB3566 and

5RB3737 located in Rio Blanco County, Colorado. The two sites contain four

hearth features, from which the pollen samples were extracted. Features 1, 3,

and 5 at site 5RB3566 provided radiocarbon ages of 1830 + 60 BP, 2190 + 80 BP,

and 1490 + 70 BP, respectively. Feature 1 from site 5RB3737 produced a

radiocarbon age of 140 + 50 BP. Pollen analyses are used to provide information

concerning possible plant resources processed in the four hearth features.
