POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT DANCING MAN HAMLET, SITE 5MT9343, SOUTHWEST COLORADO
Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; Kathryn Puseman
Year: 1996
Summary
Nine pollen and flotation samples were examined from feature fill and floor fill at the
Dancing Man Hamlet (Site 5MT9343) in southwest Colorado. This site contained the remains
of a fully stockaded Basketmaker III hamlet that appears to have experienced at least two
occupation episodes during this period. Archaeobotanical analysis at this site was designed to
answer questions of diet and subsistence. The problem domain of economy and adaptation is
the most readily addressed through the archaeobotanic record.
