POLLEN ANALYSIS FOR THE MOXA HOUSEPIT SITE (48LN616), WYOMING

Summary

Twenty-five pollen samples were submitted for analysis from the Moxa Housepit Site

(48LN616). These samples represent three occupations. Occupation 1 contains several

occupations that cannot be separated stratigraphically. Radiocarbon ages of 4430 ± 70 BP

(Feature 5) and 4210 ± 70 BP (Feature 3) have been returned for Occupation 1. A previous date

of 5790 ± 50 BP was available from Feature 4, noted in the upper portion of Occupation 1. A single

radiocarbon age for Occupation 2 was obtained from Feature 1 B (4390 ± 60 BP). Occupation 3

is represented by an age of 4270 ± 70 BP, returned for Feature 16.
