POLLEN ANALYSIS OF THREE MANOS RECOVERED IN A STRUCTURE, AND POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF FILL FROM A HEARTH, AT THE PICKETWIRE SITE, 5LA5838, SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO

Summary

Three manos were recovered from structural fill (Structure 1) dating between 500 and 800

BP at the Picketwire site (5LA5838) in southeastern Colorado. These manos were washed to

recover pollen to identify plants that were ground. In addition, two sediment samples were

examined from the fill of the hearth and sediment in the structure.
