MACROFLORAL ASSESSMENT OF SAMPLES FOR THE LAKESIDE RANCH STA PROJECT, FLORIDA

Author(s): Kathryn Puseman

Year: 2008

Summary

A total of fifteen samples from four sites (8MT1454, 8MT1455, 8MT1456, and 8MT1458)

of the CRAS of Lakeside Ranch STA Project Area were submitted for macrofloral analysis.

Each of these samples was evaluated for the presence of macrobotanical remains, their

condition, and if they are present as a result of human activity. For ten of the samples received

by Paleo Research, half of the sample had been dry screened through nested sieves and the

other half of the sample had been floated to evaluate the productivity of each technique as well

as the relative condition of the remains. The remaining 5 samples consist only of the floated

light and heavy fractions.
