Summary

Twenty-three feature and unit fill samples from sites 5EP0056 and 5EP5906 in Training

Area 25 at the Fort Carson Military Reservation in El Paso County, Colorado, were examined for

macrofloral remains. Site 5EP5906 (a rockshelter) appears to represent occupation of the area

during the Early Archaic (7800 BP-5000 BP), while occupation of 5EP0056 has a tentative

range of the late Developmental Period (AD 200-AD 1050) to early Diversification Period (AD

1050-AD 1450). Macrofloral analysis will be used to provide information concerning plant

resources utilized by the occupants of these sites.
