Year: 2011

Summary

Representative photos were taken of the various types of starch (if present) from each reference plant sample analyzed. Generally speaking, the images were captured at approximately 400x magnification. Each photo has a scale bar in the lower right corner that is 20 μm (0.02 mm) in length. Each starch grain was photographed using 3 types of light: a) normal white light , b) partially polarized, and c) fully polarized. This lower case letter is used in the photo name, for example: T_testudinum_1c refers to the 1st type of starch grain viewed under fully polarized light.
