POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT THREE SITES ON THE QUESTAR SHUTE CREEK PIPELINE, LINCOLN COUNTY, WYOMING

Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings

Year: 1989

Summary

Pollen and macrofloral samples were collected from three sites

(48LN1738, 48LN1733, and 48LNl185) along the Questar Shute Creek Pipeline.

Stratigraphic pollen columns were collected to identify paleoenvironmental

conditions at the time of occupation, as well as between occupations, and

from the last occupation to the present. In addition, both pollen and

macrofloral samples were collected in association with features in an effort

to determine subsistence activity at these sites. All three sites were

multi-component and contained evidence of Late Neoglacial occupations. Two

of the sites also contained evidence of Medithermal occupation.
