Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; Kathryn Puseman

Year: 1997

Summary

Three pollen and six macrofloral samples were examined from sites MU 125 and MU 125A

in Kaibab National Forest, northern Arizona. These sites are located along the eastern South Rim

of the Grand Canyon in the Upper Basin. Site MU 125 is a Pueblo II Western Anasazi habitation

site, while Site MU 125A is a system of agricultural terraces located approximately .5 km south of

site MU 125. Pollen and macrofloral analyses concentrated on identifying subsistence activities

associated with a series of pits at MU 125 and in identifying possible agricultural crops grown on

the nearby agricultural terraces.
