American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 Section 110 Compliance Report for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District, NHPA, Cultural Resources Investigations, Technical Report No. 23, Volume 3: Section 110 Survey of 38 Acres at the West Tennessee Mitigation Area, Weakley County, Tennessee

Summary

Between April 12th, and June 25th, 2010, Brockington and Associates, Inc., conducted intensive cultural resources survey at 2,738 acres at four different mitigation projects within the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Memphis District in northeastern Arkansas, southeastern Missouri, and western Tennessee. Volume III presents the results of our findings in West Tennessee. This includes the West Tennessee Mitigation Area. Prior to undertaking fieldwork, Brockington and Associates conducted archival research at the Tennessee Division of Archaeology in Nashville. There we identified no previously recorded archaeological sites or architectural or other historic resources recorded int he West Tennessee Mitigation Area. The survey identified no new archaeological sites or architectural resources. This ARRA-funded task order employed 42 specialists for a period of 13 months.
