Ceramic: Gallup Black-on-white, miniature pitcher, AZRU-00008/2083

Summary

Gallup Black-on-white, miniature pitcher (fragmentary), Accession AZRU-00008, Catalog #2083, Morris FS 4608. Analyzed by Lori Reed 2006. Sand and sherd temper, vitrified paste, and mineral paint suggest the pitcher was manufactured in the Chaco Cibola region. Vessel is 90% complete with additional fragments. Measurements: 4 cm orifice diameter, 8 cm height. Image AZRU8-2083 A: view of pitcher showing exterior painted design. Note: pitcher has stubs for a strap handle that is missing. Recovered from Earl Morris excavation of Kiva R, Aztec West Ruin. No published description of Kiva R available.
