This report documents the results of a Class II Cultural Resources Inventory of the Mesa del Sol property which lies south of Albuquerque and the Tijeras Arroyo, and is held in trust for the University of New Mexico by the State. A total of 2346 acres was surveyed in 14 120 m wide transects, and represents a 20 percent sample of the total of approximately 11,500 acres which comprises the property. The sites associated with the early 17th-century settlement known as Jordan’s Journey were located at Jordan’s Point near the confluence of the James and Appomatox rivers in Prince George’s County, Virginia. The property was initially occupied by Weyanoke Indians, one of the groups that formed the Powhatan chiefdom.
