The following study is the result of an appraisal of the petroglyph resources of the Klamath basin, in southwestern Oregon, conducted by the Klamath County Museum from 1959 to 1961. For purposes of this paper the Klamath Basin is defined as the watershed of the Klamath River on the east slope of the Cascade Mountains plus the Lost River interior drainage basin, an area of about 1000 square miles.
