Sediment samples from three hearths or hearth dump areas at sites 5DA2299 and 5DA2300 were floated to recover macrofloral remains to provide subsistence information concerning plant resources utilized by the occupants of these sites. In addition, a mano found in the hearth/hearth dump at 5DA2299 was washed for pollen, starches, and phytoliths in order to determine plants hat might have been processed using this tool.
