In late February 2001, a wildfire burned approximately 4,000 acres of the Poinsett Electronic Combat Range. Letter of Concurrence for Monitoring of Tree Removal at National Register Eligible 38SU106, Poinsett Electronic Combat Range, Sumter County, South Carolina (2008)
A letter written by Chuck Cantley of the South Carolina State Gistoric Preservation Office to Natalie Adams of New South Associates. The letter concurs with the assessment of site 38SU106 and the possible impact of tree removal within the site boundaries. Both parties are in agreement that no adverse effects occured as a result of the tree removal to the historic property.

On July 9th and 10th, 2008 Natalie Adams of New South Associates monitored tree removal from National Register eligible site 38SU106, which is located along Strafe Pit Road at Poinsett Electronic Combat Range in Sumter County, South Carolina. This monitoring was performed at the request of Mr. Chuck Cantley of the South Carolina State Historic Preservation Office and Mr. Dave Davis of Shaw Air Force Base.
