A former agricultural field system identified on the outskirts of Picuris Pueblo contains many terraces, grids, and other rock alignments. Some features may have been constructed as early as the thirteenth century CE. Ceramics recovered suggest most of the area investigated was used between 1500 and 1700 CE.
