During the late spring of 1962 the River Basin Surveys, Smithsonian Institution, conducted an archeological survey of the Pony Creek Watershed in Mills County, Iowa, as a part of the Inter-Agency Archeological Salvage Program. The watershed was surveyed and archeological sites in danger of destruction or inundation were tested or excavated.
