POLLEN ANALYSIS FOR SITE 5LA6862, PINON CANYON, COLORADO (1997)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda Scott Cummings. Thomas E. Moutoux.

Site 5LA6862, a south-facing rockshelter in the Dakota sandstone on the north side of Welsh Canyon, contained a small, natural, pocket-like cache in its back wall. The opening of this cache was covered with a thin and worn fragment of a metate that stood upright, blocking the entrance. Apparently rodents had gained access to the cache area, and it had been disturbed extensively by pack rats. Pollen analysis was undertaken in an effort to learn what, if any, plants were stored in this cache.
