Archaeological testing was conducted in April and May of 2013 of approximately 132 hectares (326 acres) of land within 29 prehistoric and historic survey blocks and four pedestrian survey blocks at Lakehurst portion of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL). A total of 1,611 shovel test pits were excavated in the 29 survey blocks within the JB MDL Lakehurst study area.
