Five sediment samples collected from B.F. Sisk Dam in central California, approximately 12 km west of Los Banos, were examined to recover pollen, phytoliths, and diatoms. These sediments were recovered from the downstream toe of the dam near the former junction of San Luis and Cottonwood Creeks. These samples are believed to represent the Plio-Pleistocene Tulare Formation and possibly the Corcoran Clay, one of the uppermost units within the Tulare.
