Archaeological Consulting Services, Ltd. (ACS) conducted an archaeological survey at three proposed substations in Phoenix, Mesa, and Tempe, Arizona at the request of the Salt River Project (SRP), Public Lands Division. The survey was performed in order to provide an Inventory and assessment of the cultural resources that would be effected by the construction of substations at each location.

When the Salt River Project (SRP) decided to build the Lassen Substation (LSS) along the Western Canal just east of Priest Drive in Tempe, they determined to recover the significant archaeological resources that would otherwise be impacted.
