Mapping techniques change over time, and with that we are presented with new ways of visualizing and recording information at archaeological sites. Although work was undertaken at the Buffalo Lake Métis Wintering Site for a number of years in the 1970s, since then newer technologies such as Total Stations and RTK GNSS receivers have allowed for accurate maps to be more easily created at the site scale.
