Instructions for Accessing MimPIDD

Part of: Mimbres Pottery Images Digital Database with Search

A PUBLIC version of MimPIDD is freely available to all interested parties. This includes some data (e.g., type of vessel and image) on all entries as well as images of those vessels housed in institutions that have granted permission. A RESEARCH version is available to researchers who have need for more information. It includes photographs of most vessels as well as more detailed provenience information. Instructions on how to request permission to access the research version are contained in the attached PDF (Ethics and Permission to Access MimPIDD). Please email your request to the head of the MimPIDD Board, Dr. Will Russell, at noadverseeffect@gmail.com. The PDF document discusses the problems associated with the antiquities trade, looted archaeological sites, and the ethical use of MimPIDD information.

Requests for access to the Research version of MimPIDD are reviewed by the MimPIDD board. Current members of the board include Michelle Hegmon (Arizona State University), Will G. Russell (Arizona Department of Transportation), Kari Schleher (University of New Mexico), Karen Gust Schollmeyer (Archaeology Southwest), Michael Searcy (Brigham Young University), and Mary Whelan (Arizona State University). Steven LeBlanc is an ex officio board member.
