Archaeological Survey, Bridge Replacements Perrin Road and Gregg/Lent Road, Fort A.P. Hill (AP2012.001)

Part of: Fort A.P. Hill, Caroline County, Virginia

The Fort A.P. Hill Cultural Resource Manager, under the Environmental Division of the Directorate of Public Works within Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia, has completed Phase I archaeological survey in association with the replacement of two existing bridges at Fort A.P. Hill, Caroline County, Virginia.

The objective of the archaeological survey was to identify any historic properties that may be located within the APE and evaluate the potential eligibility of any such resources for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. No archaeological sites, artifacts, intact cultural features, or intact cultural deposits were encountered within the APE. As both extant bridges (1) are less than 50 years old, (2) lack integrity, and (3) have no associations that would give these bridges exceptional importance, neither the Perrin Road bridge nor the Gregg/Lent Road bridge represents a historic property.

This collection contains the Archaeological Survey, Bridge Replacements Perrin Road and Gregg/Lent Road, Fort A.P. Hill (AP2012.001) project, which includes the survey report.
