Pueblo Blanco Fauna

Creator(s): Tiffany Clark; R. Kyle Bocinsky

Year: 2018

Summary

Excavations at Pueblo Blanco by Arizona State University resulted in the recovery of a large faunal assemblage containing a total of 64,733 specimens (Table 2). Approximately 32 percent of the assemblage, or 20,621 specimens, are considered identifiable. In this analysis, mammalian, avian, and reptilian fauna are classified as “identifiable” if the specimen can be classified to an order. Given the highly fragmented nature of fish bone, these remains are only identified to the class level. Kyle Bocinsky refactored the bone modification data in 2018.
