Summary
The Vatnsfjörður archaeological project started in 2003. This report contains results of analysis
of bones from 2003-2007. Analysis has been completed on the material from 2003 and 2004 but
is only partially complete on bones from 2005-2007. This is the second preliminary report of the
archaeofauna from the Vatnsfjörður excavation. Analysis is still ongoing and the results
presented here are by no means final. The Vatnsfjörður material dates to two time periods, the
Viking Age component and the modern farm mound (Milek 2007).
