POLLEN AND ELORAL ANALYSIS AT FORT BRIDGER (48UT29), WYOMING

Summary

Eight stratigraphic pollen samples were examined from sediments within the

area bordered by the Mormon Wall at Fort Bridger. This analysis was designed to

identify plants growing in this area throughout civilian and military

occwpations. The stratigraphic column represents the Jim Bridger or fur trade

occupation through the military occupation, to possibly the early 20th century.

In addition, three wood specimens and two seeds were identified.
