POLLEN ANALYSIS OF STRATIGRAPHIC DEPOSITS AT SITE 35LIN587, WILLAMETTE NATIONAL FOREST, OREGON

Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings

Year: 1994

Summary

Pollen analysis was undertaken on four samples from modern vegetation communities, as well as sub-surface samples from two different areas. Pollen analysis of the modern control samples was used to define the pollen record for modern vegetation communities which will assist in interpreting paleoenvironmental records. Sub-surface examination of the pollen record was designed to provide information concerning prehistoric vegetation, as well as pollen preservation and the potential of detailed paleoenvironmental interpretation for this area.
