POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSES AT LA 15260 NEAR ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO: A PILOT STUDY
Author(s): Linda J. Scott; PaleoResearch Institute
Year: 1984
Summary
Three pollen and two macrofloral samples from LA 15260, a Puebloan site
dating to approximately AD 1200, were analyzed to assess the feasibility of
continued paleobotanical research during excavation of the site. This pilot
study was aimed at the recovery of economically important remains from
cultural deposits. Samples were taken from an ash lens lying immediately
above the floor in the pithouse, from a trash deposit, and from the present
ground surface as a control.
