POLLEN AND PHYTOLITH ANALYSIS FOR LA 137068, NEW MEXICO

Summary

Site LA 137068 is comprised of a series of features, many of them roasting pits or

hearths, located along Buckman Road. Radiocarbon ages indicate occupation during the

Early/Middle, Middle, and Late Archaic. Pollen and phytolith analysis were undertaken to

identify economic activity associated with the hearths. In addition, information concerning local

vegetation at or immediately following occupation might be available from these analyses.
