MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF HEARTH FILL FROM DEVA-ADI-1, DEATH VALLEY, CALIFORNIA
Author(s): Kathryn Puseman
Year: 2007
Summary
Fill from a hearth discovered during pipeline monitoring at site DEVA-ADI-1 in Death
Valley, California, was floated to recover macrofloral remains. The hearth appears to represent
either a prehistoric Shoshone or Historic Anglo occupation based on a radiocarbon date of AD
1000-1950. Macrofloral analysis will be used to determine if plant resources were processed in
the hearth.
