Summary
This document presents the results of burial investigations and limited archaeological data recovery investigations at Sites AZ O:5:155(ASM) and AZ O:5:156(ASM) within a proposed private development known as Simonton Ranch. EnviroSystems Management, Inc. conducted the work at the request of the property owner in an effort to achieve proactive compliance with the Arizona Burial Statute (A.R.S. §41-865). Additional important information about the two sites, albeit limited, was obtained during the process of examining the sites for human remains. The project area is located less than one-half mile northwest of downtown Camp Verde in Yavapai County, Arizona.
The report contains 10 main sections by the primary author: Introduction, Project Description, Tribal Consultation, Cultural Setting, Burial Investigation Methods, Burial Investigation Results and Site Descriptions, Feature Descriptions, Selected Analytical Results, Summary and Conclusions, and References. Four appendices representing separate analytical reports/results by outside cosultants are also included: (A) Human Remains by Kimberly Spurr, (B) Chronometric Results, (C) Macrobotanical Analysis by Richard G. Halloway, and (D) Faunal Analysis by Kimberly Spurr.
