Summary

POLLEN ANALYSIS OF SITES AT 88, AT 90 AND AT 91 ATOKA COUNTY, OKLAHOMA:

Pollen samples from sites At 88, At 90, and At 91 in Atoka County, Oklahoma were submitted to the author for preparation and analysis. The purpose of the preparation and analysis of these samples was to ascertain the components of the environment in the area and to determine whether or not the cultural sequence at the site generated any factors which affected the environment. It was also hoped that information could be gained through the study of the pollen concerning such cultural activities as those involving agriculture or the gathering of food stuffs. The pollen studies were made in correlation with archaeological investigations at these sites.

POLLEN ANALYSIS OF SITE CO 244 COAL COUNTY, OKLAHOMA:

A pollen sample from site Co 244 in Coal County Oklahoma was submitted to the author for preparation and analysis. The purpose of the preparation and analysis of this sample was to ascertain the seasonality of the interment or determine any culturally introduced plant food or remains of pollen producing plants. This sample was taken directly beneath Burial 2 and the study was made in correlation with archaeological investigations at the site.
