MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES FROM THE BAILEY SITE, NYSM #11165, OSWEGO COUNTY, NEW YORK
Author(s): Peter Kovacik
Year: 2013
Summary
The Bailey Site (NYSM #11165) is a small campsite in Oswego County, New York, containing artifacts dating from the Chance Phase of the Late Woodland Period. There is also a Transitional/Terminal Archaic component to the campsite, although this occupation left no large features and seems to reflect limited site use. The light fractions of seventeen flotation samples collected from features and use surfaces were submitted for macrofloral analysis to provide evidence of seasonal or year-round occupation as well as economic and leisure activities at the site.
