This document reports the history of cultural investigations on KYARNG facilities, lists archaeological sites and historic buildings recorded within facility boundaries, discusses historic contexts and predictive models, and provides a list of Native American tribes that may be culturally affiliated with archaeological collections recovered from KYARNG facilities. To date, 72 historic properties, including archaeological sites, historic buildings or structures, and isolated artifact finds/non sites have been recorded on three KYARNG facilities discussed in this report. No archaeological work has been conducted on Eastern Kentucky Training Site (Hidden Valley), and the facility has no recorded cultural properties. No cultural properties located on KYARNG facilities have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places and none have been determined eligible.
The extent, nature and location of archaeological collections recovered from work conducted on KYARNG facilities will be determined in the second phase of this project, to be completed during Fiscal Year 1999.
