Summary

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Louisville District archaeological collections were sent to the Veterans Curation Project’s (VCP) St. Louis laboratory in the fall of 2009. The VCP St. Louis laboratory is a USACE, St. Louis District’s Mandatory Center of Expertise for the Curation and Management of Archaeological Collections project, which is staffed through Brockington and Associates, an archaeological contract firm located in Norcross, Georgia. The procedures employed by the St. Louis VCP to rehouse the archaeological material from the Surveys at Patoka Lake, 1976 investigation are discussed below. In the rehousing process of each investigative effort of the USACE, Louisville District collection, the same standard procedures and the Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology (GBL) guidelines were followed. Upon completion of this curation management project, these collections were sent to GBL for permanent curation.
