Summary
Northland Research, Inc. was contracted by Salt River Project to perform a Class III records search and cultural resources survey for two proposed substation sites. The survey was conducted on two separate parcels (Areas 1 and 2) located south of Siphon Draw, on state trust lands administered by the Arizona State Land Department. In addition to the parcels to be purchased, Northland examined a 50 ft. buffer zone on all four sides of each parcel (Areas 1B and 2B, respectively). Area 1 and 1B (future substation 47E-1.35S) covers an area 3.86 acres. Area 2 and 2B (future substation 45E-1.5S) covers an area of 3.5 acres. The survey was conducted under Arizona Antiquities Act Permit 95-57, on 19 October 1995 and 2 February 1996. The work involved one person day of labor.
