Summary
Sediment samples were collected beneath an oyster shell and from open matrix for pollen analysis from Calusa Island (8LL45), Florida. Radiocarbon dates on marine shell and mangrove wood charcoal provide intercepts of 825 and 765 BC. Pollen analysis of these two samples provides record of local vegetation and allows comparison of pollen preservation, measured by total pollen concentration, from these two contexts.
