The purpose of the survey was to locate and identify cultural resources at the Los Angeles and Long Beach Harbors that might ultimately be affected by a project. The report is comprised of historical and archaeological overviews of the project area, an identification and reliable statement on the significance of each of the individual sites, and recommendations for inclusion as historical monuments. The research discovered 18 prehistoric archaeological sites and a minimum of 21 shipwrecks.
