Summary

This document is a contractor generated letter report consisting of a historic property inventory and an assessment of adverse effects associated with the Remediating Contaminated Groundwater at Site SD015 project. The purpose of the letter is to compile any prior or current studies performed in support of the Remediating Contaminated Groundwater at Site SD015 project as a single Section 106 report. Arcadis U.S., Inc. (Arcadis) was retained by the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) offices located at Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) to provide services to support the base-wide program to investigate hazardous substance sites for their potential impact to human health or the environment. This report assesses the potential for groundwater remediation work administered by the Installation Restoration Program (IRP) at Site Surface Disposal 015 (SD015) to affect cultural resources within the Area of Potential Effects (APE) as defined by the VAFB Cultural Resources staff in coordination with AFCEC staff. The report specifically examines project impacts and/or avoidance strategies for two archaeological sites; CA-SBA-984, -1193.
