Summary

This document is a Section 106 report consisting of a historic property inventory report and assessment of effects for the Honda Culverts Repair Project (813-17-007). The purpose of the project is to replace the existing culverts that are 12.5-foot-diameter, corrugated metal pipes that were emplaced during construction of this segment of Coast Road in 1979–1983. The two pipes have been scoured along the bottom and have lost structural integrity. The proposed Honda Creek Culverts Repair Project would install a smooth, 11-foot-diameter, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe inside each culvert, seal them in place with grouting, and modify the drain inlet to prevent ponding. The report defines the Area of Direct Impact, Area of Potential Effect, and presents the resources that have the potential to be impacted by this project including CA-SBA-212/H, -669, -1119, and -1145/H. The archaeological site CA-SBA-539 is immediately adjacent to the ADI and also discussed in the report.
