Northwest Bay Site

Summary

The Northwest Bay site excavations were undertaken as part of a larger effort to determine the significance of various archaeological sites for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places on behalf of the New York State Division of Historic Preservation. Through this process, the Northwest Bay site was determined to be ineligible for inclusion on the National Register. At the time, the area to be tested was owned by the State of New York Department of Environmental Conservation. Testing of the site was carried out between July 30, 1979 and August 2, 1979.
