Di-Lane Plantation Survey 1993-1996
Summary
This collection is referred to as Di-Lane Plantation Survey 1993-1996. This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, the file folders, and the box labels. The extent of this collection is fourteen (14) linear inches.
The documents, which date from 1993 to 1996, were originally housed in acidic file folders in an acidic cardboard box with other documentation from archaeological investigations in the Strom Thurmond Lake area. The documents were in good condition, but there were metal contaminants, tears, and creases found within the documents. The metal contaminants were removed, the tears were mended using acid-free tissue mending tape, and the creases were flattened. The documents were lacking a discernible original order.
The collection originally included three copies of various volumes of the final report. During processing in 2012, the Alexandria Veterans Curation Program technicians retained the original version and one copy of the various volumes of the final report, and the remaining copies were removed from the collection.
The collection contained 190 photographic records that were organized into a separate record series. The materials included colored photographic prints and negatives. The photographic materials were assigned to a folder (Folder 19/1) and the materials were removed for permanent storage to an archival binder.
The digital materials in this collection were processed by the Veterans Curation Program (VCP), and include a finding aid, original investigation reports, photographic material spreadsheet, scanned asset key, and select archival photographs. Additional digital materials held by the VCP include additional archival photographs, document folder listing, initial data collection, notes, photographic material labels, photographic slide labels, records removal sheet and site forms. For additional information on these materials, refer to the finding aid.
