Palachucola Unit Survey, Webb Wildlife Management Area 1994-1995
Summary
This investigation is referred to as “Palachucola Unit Survey, Webb Wildlife Management Area 1994-1995.” This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, file folders, and box labels. The extent of this investigation is thirty-six (36) linear inches. This investigation dates from 1978 to 1995. The majority of the documents are dated from 1994 to 1995, as denoted in the investigation name, but there are additional background records included in the document collection. The documents were originally stored in acidic folders in three acidic boxes. Many of the documents were in poor condition, with numerous tears, metal contaminants, dirt, creases, and acidic tape found throughout the collection. The tears were mended with acid-free tissue mending tape, the metal contaminants were removed with a microspatula, the dirt was removed with a vulcanized rubber eraser, the creases were smoothed by using a bone tool, and the acidic tape was removed with a heated spatula. Some documents had previously been mended by processing archivist technicians in the VCP prior to processing in 2013 by using acid-free mending tape and acid-free paper-free paper.
The Digital materials in this collection were processed by the Veterans Curation Program (VCP), and include archival photographs, finding aid, original investigation reports, oversized material database, photographic material database, and scanned asset key. Additional digital materials held by the VCP include box inventories, correspondence, document folder listing, initial data collection, inventory record, maps, notes, and shovel test forms, and shovel test rosters. For additional information on these materials, refer to the finding aid.
