This report presents the results of an analysis conducted on 20 pollen samples taken from various prehistoric features at the Two Dead Juniper Village site in 1983. Analysis revealed the pollen on squash, corn, cholla, prickly pear, grass seeds, Mormon tea, sagebrush, sunflowers and globemallow.


POLLEN AND PHYTOLITH ANALYSIS OF FEATURE FILL SAMPLES FROM SITE LA 60977, NEW MEXICO (2010)

Four samples from lightly stained basin features at Site LA 60977, New Mexico were submitted for pollen and phytolith analyses. Two of the samples, from Features 9 and 11 were analyzed for pollen and two, from Features 10 and 12, were analyzed for phytoliths. Site LA 60977, is located south of the Moriarty Airport, approximately 43 miles east of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The goal of this analysis is to identify use of the features through pollen and phytolith analyses.
