Curecanti National Recreation Area is located west of Gunnison in central Colorado along the Gunnison River. Site 5GN2478 is located near the Blue Mesa Reservoir within the Curecanti National Recreation Area, Colorado. The site contains a pithouse structure (Feature 7), approximately 3 meters in diameter. There is currently no age associated with this feature. A probable metate was recovered from within Feature 7 and was washed for pollen. Pollen analysis of the wash residue was undertaken in order to help determine possible plant types processed on the metate and within Feature 7.
